Nova Scotia-Caribbean Liaison Program Renewed for 2009/10
March 31, 2009 | By EduNova
Along with its partners at Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI), the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and several Nova Scotia government departments, EduNova is pleased to be announcing the renewal of the Nova Scotia-Caribbean Liaison Program. Piloted from September 2008 through to March 2009, the Nova Scotia-Caribbean Liaison Program was created in order to enhance the information flow between Nova Scotia and the Caribbean; ensure that Nova Scotia companies are made aware of opportunities in a timely manner and support companies and organizations wishing to pursue these opportunities and partnerships. The pilot project was a great success with 23 companies receiving assistance throughout the seven month period.

Following a competitive selection process, the contract for the provision of the liaison services has been awarded to Nova Scotia-based Kisserup International Trade Roots Inc. who have partnered with three Caribbean organizations across the region. Such an arrangement allows for Nova Scotia companies to easily interface with local contacts here in Nova Scotia who in turn have ready access to a wide array of Caribbean contacts. The free program allows NS companies the opportunity to apply for assistance in the areas of pre-arranged in-market business meetings, after-care and follow-up, project opportunity identification and local partner identification. Funded by NSBI, ACOA and the NS Departments of Agriculture, Energy and Environment, the program is administered by EduNova and NSBI.

EduNova encourages its membership to take advantage of this innovative program to help grow their business and relationships in the Caribbean. Guidelines and application forms can be accessed on the Trade Team Nova Scotia website at: http://ttns.gov.ns.ca/en/home/aboutttns/members/edunova.aspx or by contacting Amber Germain at 902-424-8178 or amber@edunova.ca.
